Do you love to sweet and savory taste of caramelized onions? Cooking onions until they are caramelized takes a bit of time, but this dip is well worth the time it takes to create golden brown, caramelized onions.
My kids frequently ask me to buy that onion dip that comes in a jar at the grocery store- you know the one. It’s always sitting at eye level in the chip asile. It’s tasty, but has a long list of ingredients for what should be a simple recipe. I set out to create an homemade onion dip that my family would enjoy and I could feeel good about serving.
This dip is the result! It’s made with simple ingredients and has a sweet onion flavor. If you like things spicy, you can kick up the flavor by adding more cayenne pepper to the mix.
Warning –this dip is thick! Serve it with sturdy potato chips or veggies for dipping.
