Medium Bowl
Fork or potato masher
- 4-5 avocados ripe
- 2 TBSP lime juice fresh
- 1 roma tomato diced
- 1/4 cup white onion fine diced
- 1/4 cup cilantro
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Cut avocados in half, removing the pit
Scoop out avocado pulp and place in the bowl
Add lemon juice, salt and pepper
Gently smash the avocado and mix until combined. The guacamole should be a little chunky, not a smooth puree
- It’s best to serve guacamole immediately.
- To avoid browning you can add a ¼ inch of water to the surface of the guacamole before storing in the refrigerator, up to 2 days ahead.
- Fresh lemon juice can be used in place of the lime juice.
- Mayonnaise and sour cream do not belong in guacamole. You can add them, but it isn’t guacamole anymore!!!
